Elegant automobiles, Chesapeake Bay yachts, and antique boats featured
The 16th Annual St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance on the Chesapeake Bay is headed to the Kent Island Yacht Club’s beautiful waterfront lawn and docks in 2023. Chesapeake Bay yachting and motoring will be the focus of this year’s event, set for Friday through Sunday, September 22 – 24 for entrants, and Sunday, September 24 for the public show.
Featuring Delahaye as our Grand Marque and a class of World Famous early Corvette Winning Race Cars, from such venues as Le Mans, Sebring, and Daytona shall round out the show filed featuring a 70th Anniversary Celebration of the Corvette. The public are invited to arrive in tier Corvette for special upfront parking near the show field in our Collector Car Park. An award will be given to the Best Car in the Special Parking Lot. The owner and their special car will be able to drive up and collect their award during the awards ceremony.
The event includes locally-sourced cuisine and craft libations available for purchase from the Kent Island Yacht Club, along with vendor tents, live music, and awards ceremonies wrapping up the weekend event.
“We’ll have a number of yachts dockside for the event,” says Chesapeake Bay Motoring Festival and St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance on the Chesapeake Bay Chair Luke L. Phipps. “Entrants will have the opportunity to be ferried to and from the Hyatt Place Kent Narrows & Marina to the Yacht Club using one of these yachts on Sunday.”
Phipps says a limited number of suites and rooms are reserved for Concours entrants at the new, waterfront Hyatt Place Kent Narrows & Marina.
The hotel includes ample amenities, with suites and rooms offering full views and balconies overlooking the scenic waters of the Chester River and Eastern Bay. Guests will also be in walking proximity to Kent Narrows’ numerous restaurants, marinas, tiki bars, local landmarks, and attractions.
This is the first year the St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance on the Chesapeake Bay will be hosted at Kent Island Yacht Club, with a history of attracting registrants and guests to picturesque, waterfront venues from throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Sunday, September 24 is set aside for spectators and includes a day of grand classic motoring, classic yachts, wooden speed boats, and casual elegance in a waterfront setting.
The 16th Annual St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance on the Chesapeake Bay is presented by Bentley.
The public is encouraged to come by boat, with limited, transient weekend dockage available at the Kent Island Yacht Club with advanced reservations.
